Buildverse Security Standard

Security is a foundation, not a feature.

Security is built into how Buildverse hosts and manages websites. It is part of the managed-service baseline, not an optional add-on.

Security by design

Strong security starts with fewer unnecessary risks.

There is no single switch that makes a website secure.

Because Buildverse is responsible for the infrastructure and the websites it hosts and manages, protection cannot be treated as an optional checkbox. We limit complexity, configure systems carefully, control updates, watch for change and prepare to recover, adapting the controls to each website's technology and risk profile.

We explain our approach clearly while keeping sensitive operational details private.

A layered standard

Practical controls, working together.

01

Reduced attack surface

We avoid features, software and exposed systems that the website does not need. For suitable public sites, a Core build can remove the need for an exposed CMS entirely.

02

Managed protection

The baseline includes HTTPS, server-level hardening, web-server and .htaccess controls, and Fail2Ban where applicable, alongside careful configuration and edge protection where appropriate.

03

Update oversight

Software changes are monitored and relevant platform and dependency updates are handled deliberately, balancing security, stability and compatibility.

04

Change & health monitoring

We watch relevant availability, file change and security signals so unusual behaviour can be investigated.

05

Backup strategy

Recoverable backups are an essential layer. Frequency, retention and storage are shaped around the website’s needs.

06

CMS security profiles

Joomla websites receive additional hardening through disciplined access, extension and configuration choices, with Admin Tools protection where appropriate and ongoing maintenance oversight.

Right-sized security

Different foundations. The same responsibility.

The controls change with the website. Our responsibility to think about risk does not.

Core / public sites

Minimal surface

Where ongoing editing features are not needed, a lightweight public website removes common points of exposure and keeps the operating model simple.

  • No public CMS login
  • Very limited runtime complexity
  • Controlled deployment
  • Managed infrastructure
Joomla / CMS sites

Managed complexity

When a CMS is justified, we control that added surface through hardened configuration, careful extension choices and ongoing oversight.

  • Access and account controls
  • Extension discipline
  • Update management
  • Monitoring and review
